Design Decisions
When someone uses an app or website for the first time...
and they aren't able to understand how to use it...
Often they will never return to that app or website.
We want our marketplace to be a complete joy to use...
From the way that it looks to someone who sees it for the first time,
To the way that it feels for someone that uses it every day,
The look of the site should be comfortable but obvious to approach and use.
The function of the site should be smooth and without dysfunction or needless prerequisites to use.
We can arrive at these things by looking at the essential ways people will use the site.
By moving through these essential ways people will use the site and considering a handful of points we should be able to deliver a site and tool which meets our goals.
What are these essential points of contact our users will have that we should consider?
We should consider:
what types of users we will have.
which of these ways will happen for all types of users or just some?
Which of these ways will happen to users which support the success of the site?
Which of these ways make or break our sites ability to be success?
...
With all these points, we will then have decisions to make about what kind of site and tools we are building...
