Here, we detail the three main types of users: Suppliers, Volunteer Purchasers, and Compliance Purchasers.

Suppliers​

Suppliers are entities or individuals that provide verified carbon credits to the marketplace. They are typically responsible for initiating projects that generate carbon credits, such as reforestation or renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities:​

  • Connection to Puro Earth: Suppliers must connect their CO2 TRUST account to their Puro Earth account. This integration facilitates the verification and transfer of carbon credits through the Puro Connect API.
  • Management of Credits: Suppliers can manage, list, and sell their credits on CO2 TRUST. They are also responsible for ensuring the accuracy and validity of the credits provided.

Volunteer Purchasers​

Volunteer Purchasers are individuals or companies who choose to purchase carbon credits to offset their carbon footprint voluntarily. This group does not have regulatory obligations to offset emissions but chooses to do so for ethical, environmental, or corporate responsibility reasons.

Interactions:​

  • Funding and Transactions: Volunteer purchasers need only to fund their CO2 TRUST account to start purchasing, trading, or retiring carbon credits.
  • Simple Purchasing Process: They can browse available credits and buy or trade them as desired without needing direct interaction with the Puro Connect API.

Compliance Purchasers​

Compliance Purchasers are typically companies or organizations that are mandated by law or regulatory frameworks to offset their carbon emissions. They purchase credits to comply with environmental regulations.

Bridging Credits Back to Puro Earth​

  • Suppliers and Certain Customers: Any supplier or customer who needs or desires to bridge their credits back to Puro Earth will require their accounts to be connected through the Puro Connect API. This connection ensures that credits can be seamlessly transferred back to the Puro Earth registry if needed.
  • Purpose of Bridging: Bridging is typically used for verification purposes or to meet specific regulatory requirements that mandate the return of credits to their origin registry.
