CO2 TRUST incurs various operational costs to maintain a secure, reliable, and compliant platform. These costs are divided into several key categories:

Breakdown of Business Costs​

1. Server Costs​

Our server costs range from $100 to $500 per month. This includes expenses for hosting services, cloud storage, and maintaining scalable infrastructure to handle increasing volumes of transactions and user activity.

2. Oversight and Compliance Costs​

We invest approximately $3,000 per month in oversight, accounting, and compliance. This ensures adherence to international carbon credit regulations and standards, with regular audits and continuous monitoring to detect and prevent fraud or suspicious behavior.

3. Security and Blockchain Costs​

Security and blockchain-related expenses include:

  • Between $5,000 and $30,000 every few years for security and blockchain audits.
  • Less than $500 per month for ongoing security and blockchain costs. This covers advanced security measures like encryption, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems, as well as maintaining a robust incident response team.

Our legal fees amount to about $1,500 per month. This includes costs for regulatory compliance, navigating environmental laws, and protecting our intellectual property through patents, trademarks, and copyrights.

5. Registration Fees​

To register with puro.earth, we incur a one-time onboarding fee of $10,000 and an annual fee of $600. This allows us to participate in a recognized carbon credit registry, enhancing our credibility and market reach.

Managing Costs as the Platform Grows​

As CO2 TRUST gains more users and higher traffic, these costs will be covered through our structured fee system, including transaction fees, subscription fees, and service fees. Our goal is to maintain a sustainable business model while continuously improving our platform’s functionality and security.
